Creating Oneness Through Storytelling
Stories nurture the very essence of who we are as human beings. When we co-create brave spaces to listen to and share stories, we provide opportunities for healing and connection. Connectedness with others who are present, regulated, nurturing, supportive and caring are keys for fostering resilience. Experience the power of storytelling and explore different modalities and purposes for storytelling. Understand the basics of our neurosequential brain and how this connects with our capacity to relate, connect, problem solve and reason. Explore how our personal stories, beliefs and perspectives (our epistemology, cultural frame of reference and funds of knowledge) shape our interpretation and interactions with others and our environment. Through storytelling, we create a sense of oneness and connection with all life.
What People Are Saying
“Trauma Aware Peacelearning lays a strong foundation for liberating our classrooms and community spaces from behavioral patterns that disrupt our strong efforts. Through Julie's insights about the neuroscience of the brain, we discover effective strategies to dislodge and transform energy that impedes our growth, relationships and health. As we develop the crucial skill of regulation, we learn to free ourselves from the grip of fear and to foster responses that are conducive to optimal wellness and leadership.”
~ Kate Towle, Educator, Author & Community Weaver
“We asked Julie to speak to our PhxArt Docent organization about ‘Language as a Portal to Understanding’. At the time it seemed like an easy enough topic to tackle, but the more we got into the implications and how individual perspectives come into play in every situation and conversation we realized we had asked Julie to explore with us a very complex topic. Julie undertook this request with a collaborative spirit, emailing back and forth and meeting with our organizational group to ensure she had a good understanding of what we were looking for. She took great effort to incorporate our platform art as center of her discussion. She followed up with slides of her basic concepts, as well as helpful hints that we can incorporate as we interact with visitors at the Museum. I can honestly say that Julie successfully informed our Docents of the importance of understanding the concept of ‘Language as a Portal to Understanding.”

Cities4Peace Programs
Address urban challenges due to violence.
Enhance mental and social well-being of change-makers within the city.
Strengthen social connectedness
In partnership with Cities4Peace, we offer ‘Seek Peace Within Yourself’ leadership programs online, virtually and in-person.
All members of society, from actionable community members, to leaders in education, businesses, non-profits, governmental and non-governmental organizations are being challenged to take action for peace and justice.
The unprecedented hurdles in front of us can be transformed into opportunities and solutions that will create systemic change. These complex challenges, however, cannot be solved unless there is a transformation ‘within’. That ‘inner work’ is an imperative to address in our communities, jobs and within our educational settings.
Cities4Peace is an initiative of the International Association of Human Values and the Art of Living Foundation.
We manage these programs and provide special pricing.
